It is with great pleasure that I announce the formal appointment of Cidalia Jordao Olivier as Head of the Portuguese section of the Alliance. Cidalia has been serving as the acting head since June 2022 and her appointment has now been formalized effective from 1 November 2024.
Cidalia has been an integral member of the HIP Alliance since its formation in 2004 and has actively contributed to a number of its most important and successful initiatives.
The HIP Alliance, an acronym for the Hellenic Italian and Portuguese Alliance of South Africa, was established in 2003 to bridge the gap between the South African government and the needs of the HIP communities. The Alliance is composed of socio-politically sympathetic businesspersons and professionals from the Hellenic (Greek and Cypriot), Italian, and Portuguese communities of South Africa, who volunteer their time, capacity and expertise to promote the wellbeing of these communities and, by extension, the African continent.
Under the HIP's mission, the organization supports unity among its communities and the broader South African society. It works tirelessly to give its communities a voice in government and to ensure that they make a positive contribution to the country. The HIP Alliance promotes active citizenry, socio-economic development, and charitable initiatives within South Africa
